Moving to a Flexible Service-to-Business Alignment
EMTEQ shares a glimpse into the process to develop their cloud-ready platform allowing greater flexibility for aligning services to the business.
Due to rapid growth, EMTEQ‘s Josh Moore was recently in need of a turnkey solution which provided adequate infrastructure, redundancy and availability for their entire business while allowing for seamless acquisitions and expansion.
EMTEQ specializes in the design and integration of avionics equipment and is a Worldwide leader in the production and supply of innovative products for the aviation industry. With six offices worldwide, locations are connected via MPLS circuits or VPN connections. Most servers and applications are housed in the New Berlin, WI facility with some remote servers at alternate locations. The existing environment currently supports over 400 users and is expected to grow to 1200 users by 2015.
Although functional and stable, Moore knew the current environment didn’t provide the availability and redundancy desired. To achieve this, EMTEQ needed to consolidate their environment within a Vmware virtualized solution with a focus on availability and disaster recovery. The biggest benefit: this project developed the foundation for future solutions.

At successful completion, Moore had a foundation for building out a data recovery and back-up strategy, supporting database and business operations and streamlining management and maintenance. The new cloud-ready platform now offers EMTEQ ease of management allowing flexibility in aligning services to business.
